What Is Selfcare And Why Is It Important?

    Glamies I'm sure you have heard a lot about selfcare, but what really is selfcare? To break it down simply it means to practice or an activity that we delerately do in order to take care of ourselves mentally, physically and emotionally. So the focus is on you and it's not a selfish act but a much needed self love act. Sometimes as busy moms, wives, business women, etc we tend to put the need of others before our own. But what's the risk of neglecting selfcare? 

  When we neglect selfcare we tend to have higher stress levels, lowered immune systems, lower self-esteem, higher blood pressure, sometimes weight gain or weight loss, poor diet, restless sleepless nights. This is due to the lack of taking care of ourselves. 

  Now let's take a look on the flip side this is what happens to the body when we relax and destress: When we relax, the flow of blood increases around our body giving us more energy. It helps us to have a calmer and clearer mind which aids in positive thinking, concentration, memory and decision making. Relaxtion slows our heart rate, reduces our blood pressure and relieves tension. So this is the reason why I continue to stress the importance of selfcare. Below I've attached a picture of a few things you can do for selfcare and its so relaxing, pick one activity and try a different one each week even if it's for 30 mins on the weekend or every other day.
