Glamies we all love a manicure from time to time. It’s a great self care treat and makes your hands look beautiful especially when you wear rings. But which style do you choose acrylic or do you wear your natural nails. There are pros and cons to both let’s chat about it!
PROS
Acrylic nails hold polish much longer than the natural nail. The durability prevents unwanted chips in the color. After applying acrylics, the nail has a smooth, even surface to work with. Flawless nail art is much easier to achieve.
Using Vegan Polish it doesn’t contain harmful chemicals that has been known to cause cancer or harmful reactions. They are pigmented and comes in a variety of colors. You can also apply nail art but applying a top coat maybe once or twice a week can keep it fresh.
CONS
Frequent touch-ups can seriously damage your natural nails. In short, artificial nails can leave your nails thin, parched, brittle and nail fungus can develop if water gets under the acrylic.Still, some people love the look of artificial nails.
Vegan Nail Polish doesn’t harm the nails in no way. But the longevity may not last as long as acrylic nails. However you can apply a top coat once or twice a week to keep the nail Polish looking fresh. Or wear gloves when washing dishes and cleaning. This will prevent chipping of the Polish.
The decision is up to you how you wear your nails but always do what’s best for the health of your nails!
Did you know we have a Glamie Self Care Carry on kit that’s geared to the care of your nails and it includes a Sheer Lipgloss and a matching Vegan Nail Polish. Click the link below to check it out!!

]]>Glamies I love using all natural ingredients in my products, especially Rose Essential Oils.
When applied directly to the skin, or used in skin care products, rose essential oil are purported to hydrate dry skin, clear acne, reduce signs of aging, minimize the appearance of scars, and help with conditions such as eczema and rosacea.
It can also be used in aromatherapy, According to aromatherapy practitioners, “inhaling essential oil molecules, or absorbing essential oils through the skin, transmits messages to the limbic system—a brain region responsible for controlling emotions and influencing the nervous system.” It causes the body to relax, it’s soothing and healing.
one Trusted study researchers applied rose oil to the skin of each participant, and then measured its effects on the most common symptoms of anxiety. Blood pressure, heart rates, breathing rates, cortisol levels, and blood oxygen levels all decreased. The subjects also reported feeling much more relaxed after the oil treatment. And the best part is that it’s all natural with no side effects.
Did I mention how wonderful it smells OMG, believe me you’ll fall in love.
Glamies these are just a few reasons why I love using Rose essential oils in my natural products. There are more benefits but not enough room to write it all lol.

]]>Benefits of our Goat Milk Turmeric Soap
Dermatologists agree that goat's milk works for all skin types and has multiple benefits including boosting moisture levels, repairing the skin's barrier, preventing fine lines and wrinkles, and reducing acne.
Turmeric inhibits the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for dark spots and other kinds of hyperpigmentation. With regular use, a turmeric-based product can help these blemishes fade away over time naturally to give skin a more even-toned appearance!
So Glamies having both of these ingredients in our Goat milk turmeric soap is the best of both worlds!!! Especially because the weather is getting cooler it also aids in keeping the skin moisturized. Some people suffer from dry skin, dry patches, eczema, etc. by using this soap it may aid in healing the skin. Click the link below for our all natural Goat Milk Turmeric Soap

]]>Hey Glamies what do you know about Vegan Polish, is it for you? 💅🏽
Natural nail lacquers overall are better for your nails because of the quality and the exclusion of many harmful toxins contained in traditional nail polishes. It’s great because it is also safe for moms-to-be. Many times, pregnant women will not wear nail polish during their pregnancy because they want to keep the baby safe from any harmful chemicals.
Studies have shown that chemicals like toluene and formaldehyde, which are found in most nail polishes, can be harmful to the skin—why are they so bad?
There are others, but these chemicals can stay in your system for a significant amount of time and research has shown that they can cause cancer and internal toxicity. Not only can they be harmful to your body, but also they are bad for the environment.
For the most part we as women take care of our bodies by working out and eating healthy, but we neglect the little things. It seems like a small issue, but over time can become a big one!
Cons to Vegans Polish?
The complaints you will hear the most about natural polishes is that they chip and don’t last as long as traditional nail polishes because of the chemicals or formulas that have been taken out. If you wear natural nails with no gel, acrylic, or tips, your nail polish will tend to chip faster, especially if you are using your hands a lot to wash dishes or clean. That is with any nail polish, traditional or natural.
Pros that you can do!
Try doing your nails at night before bed. That way the nail polish has time to settle and thoroughly dry and it will last longer overall. And add another clear top coat after a few days, Also store your polish in a cool, dry place with little or no sunlight, it will make it last twice as long. You can also wear gloves when cleaning or washing dishes. Also after about two weeks it’s a great rule of thumb that you remove the polish and let your nails breathe and help to keep them healthy.

]]>Glamies you may wonder what is Aromatherapy massage. Well, Aromatherapy massage is a specific type of therapy that incorporates the use of scented essential oils into a massage. It's the best of both worlds when massage is combined with essential oils. Not only does it relaxes the body but the senses as well.
The essential oils are diluted with lotions or natural carrier oils. Then it is used to massage the body whether it's a gentle massage or a deep tissue massage. Some massage therapists also use a diffuser so the essential oils are also being inhaled during the massage.
Aromatherapy massage are said to help
• Stress reducing
There are different essential oils for certain ailments for example if someone is dealing with trouble sleeping then lavender essential oil would be used or if someone is dealing with emotional distress then rose or rosemary essential oil would be used.
I love the benefits of aromatherapy massages and the fact that it's all-natural is a win-win for me. Give it a try and let me know if you enjoy it as much as I do!

]]>Glamies I look forward to the summertime every year because that is the time we go on our family vacation. Time to relax, get a change of scenery, and paint the town red!! Now I'm a bit OCD when it comes to vacations because I don't want to waste any time that we could have done activities. I’m not the one for sleeping in. It's time to get up and go and check things off our bucket list!
My First Must Have:
Plan out where you're going to stay in advance. Timeshare comes in handy especially if you love traveling and do it often. Most timeshares have resorts all over the world so at least your resort accommodation is taken care of.
My Second Must Have: Plan out your excursions. I always pull up all the activities in the area and plan out what we can do each day that we are there. Here's a fun fact ”Groupon” can be used in most states, it's the perfect way to save on activities. Or if we're on a cruise I get a copy of the excursions we can do when we pull in to port. This way you don’t waste time trying to figure out what you want to do. My goal is always to try things we have never done before that’s what I call our bucket list. Each year we check things off our bucket list that we finally got to accomplish.
My Third Must Have: Is to pack light especially if we're flying we try to have one carry-on so we don't have to waste time waiting at baggage claim. What has helped us the most is my Glamie On the Go bag! It comes in a compact waterproof bag which makes it easy to pack, take to the beach or the shower. It includes: Glamie Body Lather, Facial Soap, Rose Petal Infused Body Oil, Shampoo & Conditioner bars for your hair, and an Exfoliation Glove. Everything you need to get you ready to go and you don't have to worry about TSA when flying because everything is compact. It's definitely a Win-Win! Let me know your must haves when you travel!

]]>Glamies if you would of asked me this a couple of years ago my response would of been regular. However the older we get our bodies go through changes and what may have worked then doesn't work now, go figure.
Therefore I changed from regular deodorant to a Natural Deodorant. I started to get small nodules under my arms under the skin. They were very tender. So I would let the hot water run on it in the shower and I wouldn’t wear deodorant for 2 days, and the nodules would go away. Well, come to find out the deodorant was too strong which caused the nodules to form, and in regular deodorants, you have aluminum, parabens, alcohol which cause blockages or irritation. This started my journey for a natural deodorant. Let's just say it wasn't an easy task and being OCD with odors didn't make it any better, lol!
First, when you're transitioning from using a regular to a natural deodorant your body goes through a detox stage, due to the Aluminum and parabens that are used in regular deodorants. Therefore a natural deodorant doesn't seem to work right away, it's suggested to start the transition in the winter so you're not overheated and sweating as much. And of course, I chose to do it in the summer, thank God I work from home so I was able to wash under my arms frequently, remember I told you about my OCD with odors lol.
So the hunt was on for a natural deodorant. I'm on number 5 yes 5! I started with a hand made one and it was chalky where it was clumpy under your arm and it didn't do much for odor, then I tried Each & Every it was ok but it didn't work for me, next was Hello it wasn't my fav, next up was Toms now this one I wasn't mad at it seem to do the job for the most part and I would buy it again. This brings us to number 5 Love Beauty and Planet, now the packaging is what caught my eye and the scent is amazing (Murumuru butter & Rose). Today is my first day using it, so I have to give it 2 weeks to see how it works. I will be posting a review to let you how well it works! I also wanted to add that none of these natural deodorants caused the nodules to form while I used them, so that was a plus to all of them.
Let me know have you gone through this journey or thinking about it.

]]>Glamies, Self Care is so important especially these days dealing with the pandemic. It’s great for dealing with stress, mental health, and learning a new skill. However, there are so many hobbies to choose from but have you thought about being a Plant Mom or Dad?
Taking care of plants is very rewarding and inexpensive. Even if you don't have a green thumb some plants are low maintenance and very easy to care for. When I say easy to care for I mean if you don't have a lot of sunlight in your home some plants don't need bright direct sun. If you feel you don't have time to water plants every day, some plants only need to be water once a week. Or I don't know where to purchase a good plant? No worries places such as Lowes, Walmart, and home depot sell amazing plants with a great variety to choose from. There are even Facebook plant groups you can join and they are filled with a wealth of knowledge about how to take care of plants, believe me, I've learned a lot about how to take care of my plants by being in a group.
I’ll make it even easier for you, here's a list of low maintenance plants you can start with:
Aloe Plant, ZZ Plant, Succulent plant, Snake Plant, Coffee plant, Corton, Peace Lilly, Spider Plant, Fern, Lucky Bamboo, Pothos, Rubber Plant, Heart Leaf Philodendron, Jade Plant, Cast Iron Plant, Peperomia, Cactus.
These are just a few to get you started. You’ll see a difference in your home, plant gives a homie feel and helps clean the air in the home too. It's a Win-Win, so try it start with 3 plants and let me know how it goes!

]]>Glamies, you say “Summer Time” and my eyes start to dance. It's my favorite time of the year. Most people go on vacation, the beaches and pools are full, bike trails are bustling, you can hear the sound of laughter fill the nearby parks with children at play. What more can you ask for, this is the time that all outdoor activities are in full effect. But there is one culprit we need to be concerned with our “skin”.
Our skin is the most vulnerable when exposed to excessive time in the sun. It can cause sunburn, wrinkles, dry leathery skin, skin spots, eye damage, and even skin cancer which is the most common cancer.
What can we do to be safe and still have fun in the sun?
First finding the right sunscreen, it's recommended to use SPF 15 and above. It comes in various forms, sprays, creams, sticks, etc. Make sure you're using it according to the directions. And a common misconception is that if you have more melanin then you don't need sunscreen and we do and not just in the summertime but year-round.
You can also wear protective clothing, sunglasses, wide-brim hats, and staying out of the sun around 10-2:00 pm this is when the UV rays are the strongest. And remember to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Your skin will represent you for a long time so take care of it and it will take care of you!

This has happened with my children as well, I remember changing diapers now I'm prepping for my daughter’s wedding, my oldest boy is working, my middle son will finish school next year, and my baby boy is going to HS. No more babies for me they're all grown. This phase of life just sneaked up on me.
Are you in the same situation as me? Or soon will be? What are your plans since you will have more “Me” time? Some feel useless because they are not needed as much and the house has quiet down.
This is so not the case, the kids will always need you but with the bigger situation, adult situations so be ready to lend a listening ear.
However, this is the time you can take up a hobby you always wanted to try your hand at. Like sewing, swimming, zumba, traveling, learn how to play an instrument, join a club, the choices are endless. You owe it to yourself to treat yourself, you have done so much for others so now it's your turn. Enjoy this time in your life, yes it's so different but embrace it. Learn more about this new you, you might be surprised about you’ll learn.
For me, I'm turning my daughter's room into my office, and it's coming along nicely I'm so excited! I'm also focused on expanding my business so that's taking time as well. And of course, planning our annual family trip. We all look forward to this time of the year to let our hair down and kick back, we always have such a great time!

]]>Hey Glamies, Do you fall asleep easily or is it a fight every night to get restful, peaceful sleep? Well for me I'm knocked out before my head hits the pillow, I mean TKO type of sleep. However, I know a couple of my friends have mentioned to me that it's not that easy for them to fall asleep or stay asleep for the entire night. I know for a fact that not getting a good night's rest can have bad effects on the body. If I don't get a good night's rest I'm super cranky in the morning, so could just imagine the agonies of not getting the proper rest each night. But no worries maybe these techniques can help.
1. Build a Nightly Ritual- Shower or bathe using Lavender. Lavender has a natural calming effect that helps you relax.
2. Use Sound as a Signal-The more we repetitively use the soothing sounds of a white noise machine into our schedule, the more the body will begin to associate those sounds with sleep.
3- Keeps The Room Quiet- white noise creates a masking effect, blocking out those sudden changes that frustrate light sleepers, or people trying to fall asleep.
4- White Noise Sleep Benefits- A sound machine generates white noise, which stops those inconsistencies in sound from reaching our ears while we’re asleep and waking us up.
5- Train Our Brains to Relax-we need a way to let our thoughts calm down and to relax at the end of the day. Journaling can be very effective, writing down what happened during the day or even making a to-do list for the next day can help relax our brain.
6- Pink Noise-Studies have shown that pink noise might be even more beneficial when it comes to sleep, as it helps to calm our brain waves and encourages sleep. The difference between white noise and pink noise is that white noise is a constant high frequency and pink noise is a lower frequency noise that fluctuates.
So do you think these steps can be beneficial for you? Try it and see!

Glamies we all lead busy life’s but we need to schedule time for self-care. And I have the perfect total body experience for you. Have you ever done a full body exfoliation? First, let's start with what is exfoliation?
Exfoliating is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin using a chemical, granular substance, or exfoliation tool. Your skin naturally sheds dead skin cells to make room for new cells every 30 days or so. Sometimes, dead cells don't shed completely.
Therefore you can use a dry body brush, natural body scrub, or an exfoliating glove. When you exfoliate it brightens the appearance of the skin, removes dead skin, increases blood flow, helps with lymphatic drainage, it allows moisturizers to penetrate the skin.
So many benefits to exfoliating however, beware there is a difference between facial scrubs and body scrubs. Facial skin is more sensitive than the rest of the body’s skin, so only use scrubs that are specially made for the face.
You can exfoliate 1-2x’s a week using whatever method you choose. I love to exfoliate at night because it relaxes me and helps me to unwind for the night. I will link below my fav body scrub and body oil that I use.

]]>Did you know that April is stress awareness month? Stress can be positive like planning for a wedding and it could be negative like losing a job. Either way, stress plays an important part in our health. Signs of stress can show up as a headache, muscle tension, sleeplessness, even cardiovascular disease. While stress is unavoidable for some there are ways to help control it. Let's look at a few easy steps.
1- eating whole foods helps combat stress naturally. (Fruits, Vegetables, Whole grains)
2- exercise for a least 30 minutes a day lowers blood pressure and can help release stress naturally. (Walking, Jogging, Swimming,)
3-getting enough rest, when you don’t get enough rest anxiety and depression increase. So try turning off electronic devices 30 minutes before bed that will help get you into a routine for the brain to relax for bedtime.
4-learn how to relax, try the 4-7-8 deep breathing technique. Inhale for four seconds, hold the breath for seven seconds, exhale for eight seconds. Continue for as long as you need to feel relaxed.
5-Journaling, putting your thoughts on paper it’s a great way to release stress as you’re writing down your feelings it helps you to sort through your feeling and sometimes finding a solution.
6- Learning something new- Always wanted to take a cooking class? Considering an herb garden? Learning new skills and taking the time to do something you love creates an outlet to relieve stress. Don’t be intimidated by the prospect of picking up something new – it can be as small as playing a 15 minute game of Solitaire. Just make sure it’s something you enjoy to do.
These are a few easy steps you can do on your own to help keep stress under control. Monitor how each step helped you and what the results were. Keep a record of all your progress and I recommend a great self care journal to help you do that, click the link below.

bring it into existence? Isn't the best feeling in the world? I created my vision board at the beginning of the year and there were two things I truly wanted to accomplish, one was a digital download and the other was a self care journal. I was able to complete that part of my vision board early this year. Didn’t think I would be able to but with hard work, pushing all of my doubt behind me, and not focusing on the fact that I’m not that tech-savvy, I made it happen.
I used my journal to produce my journal lol! I started with what I wanted my journal to be about, how I wanted it to be laid out, what I wanted it to included, made sure it can be used for different journaling purposes, and how it can be different from other journals. Once I figured all of that out it was pretty much set how to proceed with producing my journal.
What was important to me was that it included different components such as;
📍Monthly Planner 📖
📍Goal Planner 🏆
📍Affirmations 💬
📍Self Care Ideas 🛀
📍Drink Recipes🍹
📍A Reflection Section 🧐
📍Music Playlist
I kept in mind who I was creating my journal for and the elements they will enjoy as well as what will set my journal apart from others.
I'm truly happy with the outcome and I know you will too. ]]>On Saturday, April 3, 2021, A new chapter has begun in my life. My oldest child, my daughter got married. It was such a joyous occasion, she was beautiful and excited to be married. Everything went off without a hitch our families were there to share in the joy and we couldn’t ask for a better day. I still can’t believe that my daughter is married.
I have mixed emotions, I’m happy and sad at the same time. Sad because I felt like I’m losing my best friend, she won’t be here in my house with me every day or here for our late night chats. But on the other hand, I’m so proud of her she has grown up to be a very responsible young lady with a very bright future ahead of her. I realize I have to let go and let her grow and live her life, that’s the loving thing to do. I’ve raised her to be an independent person so now the way she needs me will be in a different way and I have gained another son our family is growing.
So now my tears are tears of joy. I look forward to new beginnings with my children as they get older. It's amazing how fast they grow up my babies are not babies anymore, but I love the fact that I have so many great memories and we continue to make new ones.
]]>Glamies in our last blog we spoke about the benefits of journaling. This week we will talk about different ways your journal can be used. Let's start with me, I love a pretty journal and a great pen to write with, it's makes journaling fun! However, I have multiple journals. I have a journal for each of my businesses, a journal for new ideas I come up with and I recently brought one for my daughter's wedding. It helps me to keep track of my plans, ideas, and goals I'm trying to achieve. But there are so many ways you can use a journal, let's list a few:
~A mom-to-be Journal - can be used to keep track of the baby, things she/he will need, doctor's appointments, etc.
~A daily life Journal- can keep you on track with kids' appointments, bills, shopping lists, household chores, etc.
~Emotional Journaling- great for mental health checks, keeps in touch with you, how are doing/feeling, recording your wins and not-so-hot moments but also how you can do better next time.
~Exercise Journal - keep track of weight lost, muscle gain, best workout routine, scheduling workouts, new foods to try, how many steps you did in a day.
~ Food Journal- writing down new recipes, planning to make different dishes from around the world, keeping track of how it turned out.
~Mixologist Journal - learn how to make new drinks, keep track of drinks made and how they turned out, learn how to pair drinks with certain meals.
~Fashion Journal - keep track of the latest fashions, what's trending for the season, best places to buy, and what works for you.
So Glamies as you can see you can use journals for everything. Did I cover what you use your journal for? If not comment below and add it to the list, lets keep it going!

]]>Glamies the power of the pen and paper can very well save your life. Sounds a little far-fetched huh? Well let look at the benefits of journaling and I’ll let you be the judge of it.
There are 5 major benefits of journaling that I found very interesting. Journaling can:
1- Boost Mood: it can improve your mood and give you a greater sense of happiness and overall emotional well being.
2-Keeps Memory Sharp: it can improve cognitive processing, boost memory, and comprehension.
3-Reduces Stress: stress can be damaging to us mentally, emotionally, and physically. But journaling 10 to 20 minutes a day and 3 to 5 times a week can reduce stress, lower Blood pressure, improves liver function, improves meditation habits, and help you to unwind.
4- Improves Immune Function: Believe it or not, expressive writing can strengthen your immunity and decrease your risk of illness.
5-Strengthens Emotional Functions: become more in tune with their health by connecting with inner needs and desires. Journaling evokes mindfulness and helps writers remain present while keeping perspective. It presents an opportunity for emotional catharsis and helps the brain regulate emotions. It provides a greater sense of confidenceand self-identity.

Glamies did you know there are Intrinsic and Extrinsic factors that contributes to aging skin? Intrinsic factors are what goes on in the inside of the body. As we get older, we produce fewer new cells, and there is less fibroblast activity - these are the most common connective tissue cells. Reduced fibroblast activity means less collagen and elastin in the skin, generally meaning less elasticity. Therefore what we eat, having a regular skincare routine, getting the proper rest, less stress can help combat intrinsic factors.
Extrinsic factors are what happen outside of the body. Different facets of social behavior and activity can accelerate the skin aging process. A regular sleeping position or habitual facial expressions can affect our skin. And nothing defies gravity forever, our skin included. But the primary external factor is exposure to sun, which results in what is known as photo-damaged skin, characterized by increased dryness and fragility, loss of elasticity, deep wrinkling and irregular pigmentation. Using sunblock and Lessing too much exposure to the sun combats sun damage.
Excessive alcohol use or smoking can also damage the skin. In smokers, the tiny blood vessels in the outermost layers of the skin narrow, and the reduced blood flow deletes the supply to the skin of the oxygen and nutrients essential to its health. Smoking also damages the collagen and elastin, while the repetitive facial expressions of smokers can turn to wrinkles. The only way to combat this extrinsic factor is to quit smoking and drink in moderation it will improve your health completely.
